Printing Press ?

      Well, it's beginning to look like Image of the Mind Studios may be installing a Printing Press into the operation.    The Gnomes of New Hope project requires a substantial amount of printing in order to fulfill the objectives.  Not only are there seven books in the collection, but there is also the Libretto that needs to be provided to the production personnel and the music score provided to the orchestra. That in itself is huge, larger than the illustrated Storybooks or the Libretto.

   What it ends up getting down to is this; in order to get the per page cost down to an acceptable budgeted amount, having a press in the shop is one option that needs serious evaluation.  The difference is that; unless there is sufficient sales to move an entire production run (of the Illustrated Storybook), the cost of an on-demand printing press appears to outweighs the cost of inventory on the shelf.  Inventory goes into raw materials that could be used for another project, as opposed to finished publications awaiting distribution.

   Of course supplies and personnel come into play as well.  So this is under consideration. I may wait on this action until the Board of Directors is fully in place and functioning properly. But really, inventorying published goods (pages) produced by a vendor, at the level required to bring the price down, ties up resources that could be used elsewhere and be applied to setting up in-house capabilities.  

   There's also the option of partnering with both printing and distribution operations, which needs to be pursued.

A Fully Illustrated Storybook Collection

based on the Stage Musical

The Illustrated Storybook Collection is nearing completion.

This means that I will be entering into refining the production line for publishing 

and binding these books.  As you can see from the photo, the books are Hand-Stitched. 

This means that this is not going to be a high volume operation. 

Until I find a way of stitching these books that will allow higher volume production, 

the initial productions will be Limited Editions, Signed and Numbered and those editions will be sold 

at MSRP directly from Image of the Mind Studios.

I will take potential orders via email, but they will need to be pre-paid before I ship.

Notice will be given when the books are ready to ship,

at which time payment in full will be expected.

A Shopping Cart page is in the process of being designed and set up.

There will be unlimited editions, sold from other outlets, but the production will be limited to what we can produce in house, unless I find other suppliers willing to do the binding exactly as I have designed it. That means that delivery times will necessarily be slower than some outlets expect.

I will take larger orders and fulfill them, with the understanding that we can only make so many 

within a monthly timeframe. Wholesale pricing is available for orders depending on quantity.

The terms are simple; pricing is agreed to (Direct Limited Editions @MSRP 

or wholesale, according to the discount schedule) 

Full price pre-paid on orders less than 5,000 units

50% deposit, balance COD on all other orders less than 100,000 units

Letter of Credit on orders larger than 100,000.
