Studio Compound

    I'm beginning to plan construction of a new Studio compound. I have numerous component of this that I have designed over the years, but lately I have been strongly believing that Image of the Mind Studios needs to be settled into another facility with room to grow. The present location has limitations that are becoming increasingly apparent. Of course the real issue here is that I have already had twelve different studio spaces, all of which were adapted spaces. For many years I have wanted to build a studio space (compound) and as a process of moving in that direction, I have designed assorted building/ground plans for "The Theatrical Development Centre". 

   Now, I thought that the present location would be my final resting place in this regard, but, as much as I hate to even think it, I'm believing that a new mission in this regard is appropriate. Why would I say that? I've spend many years setting up this studio and thusfar I have not achieved the goals I set for this studio setup. I'm believing that I will not be able to achieve those goals, because numerous circumstances point to complexities that are prohibitive. 

   So, keeping this in mind, I believe that a restructuring of the business operations would best serve the long-term  survival of IMS. There is a well thought-out structure that is part of the Business Plan and I now believe that introducing the construction of a new facility into that Business Plan, along with the Board of Directors management is the best approach. I say this because I need to start getting serious about passing Image of the Mind Studios onto the next generation of management. The operation needs to pass from a Proprietorship onto a Corporate operation. There are numerous reasons for this, which I will in detail discuss later, but suffice it to say that the Development end of things works better without the larger complexities of managing a corporation. 

But here we are facing a restructuring which works better under a corporate umbrella and along with that, the larger mission of facilities development can better serve the corporate management activities if the environment is newly prepared for that corporate departmentalization.

  All of these thoughts will be addressed in detail in the expanded Business Plan, but one factor that is a absolute is that the Board of Directors (in fact, more than one Board) will be based on a "Buy-in". As it stand now 42% of the shares in Image of the Mind Studios will be sold to six board positions. Divisions will be funded separately and structured under the larger umbrella.

   I will discuss this with interested parties, understanding that the Buy-in to the Board involves seven figure numbers at minimum.

   Recently I purchased three domains; imageofthemindstudios.org (.com & .bus) from Squaretrade. I am using .org as the primary portal and linking assorted blogs to that as needed. Mostly this site is the location for IMS discussions and there are numerous other blogs set up for projects. But for the sake of the search engines the (.org, .com, .bus) are the business portals that will support the “Shopping Cart” function for sales and such.

UPDATE 2/16/26

  For a number of years I have had a business plan that involves four business entities. I was, at one time, enthusiastic about pursuing that business plan and even now, I still believe in that plan. But I have been quite distracted trying to finish The Gnomes of New Hope publishing project and as a result I have not been able to follow through on the business structure. But fortunately, much of that business plan has been thought out and once the graphic layout for the Gnomes project is completed and the initial run of books is implemented,  there will be more time to pursue the business structure. It will be required when the book end of things begins to come into demand and distribution begins.  In regard to the business plan, I will transfer what I have already crafted onto the IMS Management blog.

 I recently had a revelation about all the work I have been doing, building my studio, developing theatrical and cinema projects, publishing endeavors, automotive restoration... The list goes on. Unfortunately, I will not. I'm seeing the horizon creep up on me. So I've taken the position that I need to begin to accommodate the changes that are inevitable. 

   Even though I have a management plan structured, I'm beginning, no really I've already determined that I will not be able to see these matters into fruition, at least not under the current Modus Operandi. 

   That being said, I must consider all options for putting IMS on a track for long term survival and growth. As much as I believed that this would come about with ongoing success of projects underway, I am now facing the realities of my own diminished capacities.

   I fully expect to keep on keep'in on, but it would be best if I actually retired in reality. That is very difficult to achieve, given that Image of the Mind Studios is an image of my mind and everything gathered as tools of the trade, have been so gathered in order to achieve the goals and the requirements of producing these intellectual properties.

   I make this statement in the event that someone may have interest in buying Image of the Mind Studios, because it is inevitable that either it will be sold (to continue and grow) or it will, sadly be dispersed if I become incapacitated, unable to prop it up and give it life.
